About the Author

Eleanor Florence Rosellini grew up in Park Ridge, Illinois, and attended the University of Illinois and Indiana University, earning degrees in English and in Reading Instruction. She lives in Massachusetts with her husband and two children. In addition to writing, she has been involved in various environmental projects, including prairie and woodland restorations and energy reduction programs. During her many years as an Indiana resident, she worked as a volunteer docent at Historic Prophetstown, a museum in Battle Ground, Indiana. Currently she gives architectural walking tours of Boston as a docent for Boston by Foot.
The Puzzle in the Portrait, originally a Christmas gift to her children, is the first of a series of mysteries featuring a brother-and-sister detective team who solve long-forgotten mysteries from the past. The newest Hidden Treasure Mystery, A Mystery in Maine, was published in October, 2008. The author hopes to pass on to young readers the legacy she received from her own extended family: an eye for the eccentric, an interest in past generations, and an appreciation of the humor in everyday life.
